The Misconception

 

A common misconception about business coaches is that they are business experts. While many business coaches possess extensive business knowledge and experience, they need not be experts in your line of business to deliver quality coaching services.

 

The underlying philosophy of business coaching is that the individuals within the company participating in the coaching, whether you are the CEO or the front-line staff, are the experts in your business. The role of the coach is to help you come up with your own solutions, strategies, and action plan for improving the business.

 

All too often, a perfect action plan is created but there is little to no follow-through. A business coach offers objective, unbiased accountability to execute the plan, learn from the outcomes, revise the plan, and take further action.

 

A good business coach will also help create accountability structures that will encourage individuals to take consistent action to improve their performance and the overall performance of the company.

Our Approach

Our approach to improving performance:

  • Understanding Self - Many times I have sat with indivduals and often I find that understanding who I am and my goals create the basis for poor performance. Often this becomes a challenge for managers as the employee has no drive or motivation, their internal dynamo is off. No Goal = No Motivation...Simple!!

  • Understanding others - Once I understand how I work and why I do what I do, it becomes even easier communicating with others because the same understanding of human behavior is in them too. This helps reduce conflicts, backbiting etc.

  • Customized Training - NOW we can move on to teaching the skills required to perform even more in that specific role, example...Sales training, Customer Services training, Soft skills training, Leadership training etc.

  • Immersion - This where we work with the individuals on the job to embed the training they have recieved. In my experience I have discovered that after doing Sales,Customer services training few employees actually put it into practice effectively, being available and teaching people as they are working on various methods of response enables the employee to adopt the behavior as they experience the training in action.

  • Re-evaluate & Adjust - Here we focusing on any behavior or belief that still hinders the individual to re-calibrate the behavior to create the optimum output required by your company.
